The Pre-School room focuses on giving the children as much independence as possible, preparing them for school.

The room continues from the Toddlers room in regards to the designated areas for construction, mark making, role play, and a book corner, but offer this on a bigger / more in depth scale.

A typical day will include:
  • Mealtimes = Breakfast (7.30am-9am) / 'Choice of Rolling snack' (10am-11am) / Hot main meal (12pm) / High tea (4pm)
  • Free Play with a variety of resources
  • Craft/sensory activities
  • Outdoor play (Choice of indoor/outdoor 9am-10am)
  • Adult led activities
  • Group & circle times / Listening games
  • Yoga Bugs (Thursday afternoons, included in daily rate)
  • French lessons (Additional charge on a Tuesday morning)

The pre-school room runs alongside the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to enable staff to assess individual's current interests and levels of development and then in turn, plan fun and exciting activities that will allow the children to enhance their skills in all areas of learning.

Records are kept for each child as they move through the nursery providing an invaluable record of their development. This can be in the form of photographs, examples of craft, mark making or written observations from the staff.

We pride ourselves on the close relationships built between staff and the children. We offer a key worker system that enables trusting relationships to be built between children and staff during a gradual induction for the child. We also involves parents and carers in their child's learning in a variety of ways.

Before & After School Club
We run a breakfast club for children aged 4-8 years, open between 7.30am-9am. Breakfast will be served between 7.30am-9am along with free access to all the resources and equipment.

We will then walk as a group to the local primary school and arrive for 8:45am. Children are picked up after school and guided safely back by staff. On arrival, they are offered a high tea followed by indoor/outdoor play choice and a huge variety of activities on offer to them. The After school club closes at 6pm.

The Holiday Club
The holiday club offers exciting opportunities and trips out for the children to enjoy during school holidays. Fishing at the local river, building dens in the nearby woods, feeding the ducks at the local country park and playing at the local football field are just a few of the activities the children can enjoy.

Bookings are taken on a first come first serve basis and the club is open to all children. The holiday club is open between 8am-6pm and all meals are included in the daily rate.
